Our Story
Pizza Protector began with a straightforward idea: great pizza should arrive the way it tastes fresh from the oven - crisp, clean, and never soggy. Frank learned this early in his father’s Italian pizzeria. He watched how a perfect crust could lose its character during delivery. Steam rose, oils traveled downward, and the pizza pressed into the box. The result changed the experience. He saw it again and again. Customers tasted the difference. He wanted a solution that honored the craft of making pizza. Something simple, reliable, and effective.
After years of testing and refining, he created a food-safe screen manufactured in a clean, controlled environment. A barrier that lifts the pizza slightly, allowing air to circulate while protecting the crust from moisture. A design that preserves the quality of the pizza from oven to box to doorstep.
Today, Pizza Protector supports pizzerias across the country, from old-school shops to new fast-casual kitchens. It delivers a consistent result operators can trust and customers can taste.

Pizza Screens
Pizza Protector pizza screens are thin, rigid surfaces with open airflow patterns. When placed under a pizza, they create physical separation between the crust and the box.
That separation allows:
-
Steam to escape instead of condense
-
Air to circulate under the pizza
-
Oils and moisture to dissipate rather than soak in
The result is simple but powerful: the crust stays drier, firmer, and closer to how it tasted fresh out of the oven. The screens are made from FDA-approved, food-grade plastic.

Screens Work Better
Many kitchens try to solve moisture with absorbent solutions -cardboard rounds, paper liners, cellulose sheets. While these may soak up some moisture, they don’t address the root cause.
Absorbent materials:
-
Saturate quickly
-
Can become soggy themselves
-
Still sit flush against the crust
-
Often degrade structurally during delivery
Airflow screens, by contrast:
-
Don’t rely on absorption
-
Prevent condensation from forming in the first place
-
Maintain consistent airflow
-
Stay structurally stable throughout delivery

Where They Work Best
Pizza screens are especially effective for:
-
Thin and medium-crust pizzas
-
High-moisture toppings (fresh mozzarella, vegetables)
-
Longer delivery times
-
Stack-heavy delivery environments
They’re also valuable for quality control - helping ensure that customers experience the pizza as it was intended, not as it survived.
When a hot pizza is placed directly into a box, steam builds up underneath. Our screen prevents that by creating airflow. The crust stays dry, clean, and firm - just as it was when it came out of the oven

Why Not The Box
Better pizza boxes exist - but they’re often expensive, operationally disruptive, or incompatible with existing supply chains. For many pizzerias, especially independents, changing boxes isn’t realistic.
Pizza screens work with the box you already use. No new suppliers. No retraining. No packaging overhaul. Just a small change inside the box that improves results immediately.
Prevents Pizza From Sticking to the Box
By keeping the pizza off the box and allowing airflow underneath, the screen prevents moisture from being absorbed into the crust and stops melted cheese and sauce from sticking the pizza to the cardboard.
Thick, Thin Or Hand Tossed
Pizza Protector screens help every type of pizza stay crisp and come out of the box clean. For thin-crust pizzas, the screen keeps the crust from soaking up moisture and sticking to the cardboard. For hand-tossed pizzas, the screen lets steam escape so the bottom doesn’t turn soft or soggy. For deep-dish and pan pizzas, the screen lifts the pizza above excess heat, oil, and sauce that can collect in the box. The result is pizza that stays firm, doesn’t stick, and holds its shape from oven to table.
